Safiya Kaijya Harris

Safiya was born & raised in sunny, spicy, Miami, FL. She was raised by a brilliant and passionate Cuban and Jamaican family. She grew up singing and dancing any moment she could; whether it was humming while eating or creating her own dance routine.

She was always a person who took charge and moved like a natural born leader.

Fun fact: The same day she realized  that acting was a passion of hers, was also the day she ended up ripping her pants in front of her entire elementary school. Talk about a revelation!

This experience led her to audition for a magnet arts middle school where she would be introduced to the world of musical theater. She attended not only a middle school but continued her journey at a magnet high school and eventually found herself at Carnegie Mellon University getting her BFA in musical theater. Her horizons continue to expand post-grad; embracing her passion for holistic healing, making her own music and becoming a yoga teacher. She explores any possible avenue that ignites her creativity and feeds her spirit. After spending some years in the City of Angels, she has recently made a home in the Big Apple. You can find her dancing on the streets, indulging in any italian spot, or knee deep in nature. Please, enjoy the many facets of Safiya!
